Some of the photos here are of me as a teacher. I have been an Spanish teacher all my professional life, both in Mexico city and here in USA.
I have taught to teenagers, middle schools, and children from K to 5. Also I have taught adults in my private practice, in Washington County Public Schools (Spanish for educators) and in Frostburg University in Md (just a brief summer course in 2006).
It has been a long road as a Spanish teacher and although I enjoy doing it I am slowly but surely changing routs.
I am currently the Art and Spanish teacher for the Tree House at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdtsown. It is a lovely place. were I teach young children and I work with a wonderful staff of coworkers. I love my Job!
I landed this job after i quit teaching for WCPS full time, and the principal, Miss Jan at the NCTC invited me to teach there after being familiarized with my art, since I have been exhibiting in Shepherdstown and Martinsburg my art.
Is an honor for me to be noticed as an artist, and been invited to work for such wonderful people.
The NCTC is not a common school. Is what i would call a green school, since everybody enjoys 400 acres of woods and wild life. The children and teachers hike quite often as part of the curriculum. The school has a garden, and the children participate actively in the garden. the Children are aware of the gifts of Mother earth... and i can go on and on...
In the art program results are not as important as process, and every class is a natural flow of creativity where children find their own artistic voice.
I love it!
